Dealing with plan B

We all make plans and we all have our plans dashed by circumstances outside our control. This is something that mankind has in common. Rarely do are lives turn out exactly how we planned. Life involves a lot of ups and downs and we all have to find a way to handle them and move on to the next plan instead of focusing on what didn't work out.

I however, am well past plan B, I'm more on plan M at this point. Still the idea holds true, life is all about how we handle the unexpected. For us sickies we have just been thrown a different curve-ball. Not only are our plans destroyed but it is hard to make new plans without the benefit of good health. When you lose your health life becomes more about surviving the here and now then making plans in the future. I have no idea what my health will be like in the future so I try to just live from day to day. If I think about the future I start to feel overwhelmed by the prospect of spending my life feeling like this, so I try to avoid thinking about it as much as possible (I would not suggest this for everyone, only if you are a control freak like I am because it does involve some element of denial).

Chronic illness is all about making adjustments. You have to change your life until you find a way to make it work for you and your body. You constantly have to make adjustments so that you can live your life how you need too. Unfortunately, it is a process that never ends. As soon as I find out what works for me my body throws me another curve-ball and it's back to the drawing board.
